Unblock your mind: prevent writer’s block

I have been blogging for more than half a year now, but it’s as if I wrote only a few posts. I have so many ideas in my head, but didn’t have the time and patience to put them all in writing. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and wanted some of my posts to have an impact on my readers so perhaps I choose carefully on what to publish here online.

Most of the time, I feel like dead here in the blogging world. No post for a week as I was studying how to play the guitar, getting busy with my social life, and reading as much as I can to reduce my ever-increasing TBR list. Whew! I know these are just excuses and that I must write often for my dear readers, but sometimes I just can’t bring myself into it. I guess my situation is not rare to my fellow writers. Once in a while, we experience this writer’s block that no matter how hard we stare on a blank sheet of paper (or an electronic page); we can’t put words into coherent sentences.

Thankfully, I stumbled upon a blog where the writer is doing a blog challenge. The idea appealed to me. One post a day about a simple topic. Hmm. Sounds easy especially since there are already established themes. I can do this!

You can do this, Monica!

So what is the challenge about? Here are the 30 topics/questions that I will write about for the next days.

Day 1: A favorite song.

Day 2: A favorite movie.

Day 3: A favorite book.

Day 4: A favorite television program.

Day 5: A favorite quote.

Day 6: A moment you wish you could relive.

Day 7: Five things you couldn’t possibly live without.

Day 8: A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.

Day 9: A photo you took.

Day 10: A photo of you taken over ten years ago.

Day 11: A photo of you taken recently.

Day 12: A song that you want played at your wedding(or was played).

Day 13: A guilty pleasure.

Day 14: A vacation you would like to take.

Day 15: A person you admire.

Day 16: A song that makes you cry.

Day 17: An art piece.

Day 18: A time when you felt passionate and alive.

Day 19: A talent of yours.

Day 20: A hobby of yours.

Day 21: Something you know you do differently than most people.

Day 22: A website.

Day 23: A way in which you want to be remembered.

Day 24: A movie no one would expect you to love.

Day 25: A recipe.

Day 26: A childhood memory.

Day 27: A physical feature you love.

Day 28: A scar you have and it’s story.

Day 29: Hopes, dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days.

Day 30: A motto or philosophy.

I will post the first day write-up shortly after creating this introduction to my 30-day challenge. I hope I will be able to finish this. Oh well. You guys are free to join me, esp. Jae and Micah. The more the merrier, right?
