A Very Inspiring Blog Award

Daryl of Here I Sit is kind enough as to nominate me in another award. Whoa! This is getting overwhelming; just last week I wrote about an acceptance post for Gargie and Liebster Awards. Now, another fellow blogger noticed me and my writing and I am so pleased to share this with you guys! Thank you very much Chaplain Densford for this recognition!

very inspiring blogger award

Now, for the rules in accepting this award:

1. Display the award logo on your blog

2. Link back to the person who nominated you.

3. State seven things about yourself.

4. Nominate fifteen other bloggers for this award and link to them.

5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award’s requirements.

Seven more facts about myself.

music

1. I love music. Even if music doesn’t love me back. I like listening to music a lot. I am not picky about the genre, but I cannot tolerate much rap. I am forever in love with classical music even though my friends tease me of being like an old person who lived way back before. I also enjoy some ballad, though currently I am for KPOP.

sleeping

2. You cannot find pillows under my head when I sleep. I don’t like the feeling of my head inclined slightly from the bed. I have tried different kinds of pillows, and no matter how soft they are I still feel comfortable sleeping only on the mattress. However, I still use pillows. I like being surrounded with them – two on my sides, one for foot rest and another to hug. Huge pillows are like my teddy bears at night!

ebooks

3. I read e-books, too. My love for books continues to grow. Before, I only read hard copies, but recently I became acquainted with digital versions and they seem fine. However, I do not have a trusty e-reader yet so I read using my netbook and 4-inch smartphone.

breakfast

4. As an Asian, my staple food isn’t rice. I prefer bread, and sometimes pasta. I remember when I was younger that I always vomit after eating rice, especially early in the morning. My family isn’t like other Filipinos; we do not serve rice meals for breakfast. Instead, we have the usual continental breakfast – pastries, some meat, cereals, cheese, tea, milk, and orange juice. My favorite breakfasts are bacon with egg and cheese sandwich and French toast.

scar

5. I recently had a horrendous experience in a hair salon. I wanted to change my hairstyle, but didn’t bargain for a drastic transformation. My salon-straight, hip-level hair became shoulder-length, straightly chopped, curly locks.

medicine

6. Medicine tablets and capsules are my frenemies. When I was a child, I always cried when I needed to drink medicine. Syrups are tolerable, but I felt like an impending doom was coming whenever Mom or our Pedia approached me with this serious, don’t-mess-with-me face. I couldn’t drink tablets and they always ended up being melted in my tongue. The taste was so dreadful that I always spit it out. Of course, the adults wouldn’t like it so my mom devised a way – burying the tablet in a banana. When I swallow a slice of the fruit, the tablet would be included there and I won’t be able to experience its bitter taste.

labrador

7. Dogs are my favorite animals. I grew up with those pretty creatures and got attached with their kind. I love being with our dogs, but you won’t see me playing brave and petting others’. I even cried when they died. Currently, we only have one dog and I am patiently waiting for my colleague to offer a puppy for adoption.

Of course, selecting fifteen wonderful people is never easy. I have a lot of blogger friends who are very good in their own craft. This time, I will select those fifteen who are the epitome of this award. These inspiring people are:

51 Responses to A Very Inspiring Blog Award

  1. Your little fun facts made me smile :) And I am so honoured you decided to hand me this award too! :)
Thank you so much!! Will allot a blog post for this :)
P.S. I share the same Fact #2 with you!!!

    • Thanks, Juanita. They are intended to be humorous, I guess :) Your blog is very inspiring – this is true. In your posts, we caught ourselves thinking if we can do what you are doing. Everyone can have their DIYs, but only few were gifted. You surely are one of those blessed!

I will be looking forward to your post and seven facts. Aha! I thought I am alone in the world who doesn’t use pillow under my head, too. :)

      • :) Thank you…

I am slowly coming up with little facts about myself. It has made me reflect on my usual habits or likes and dislikes! My blog is very cluttered at the moment due to the daily posts of 12 Days of Christmas Swop, but I will get to this surely, just very slowly :)

  2. Congratulations on the award, and thank you for the nomination! Unfortunately I’ve received this one before, but it’s the thought that counts. ;)
Continental breakfasts are the best! I absolutely love to have tea with toast or perhaps some cheese sandwiches. As for medicine, I’m going to sound strange, but as a child I actually liked medicine. Never gave my parents trouble with it at all!

    • Oh. Still, I would want to nominate you for this award. I love Continental breakfasts and I am glad you have the thing for tea, too!

Wow. Your parents must be lucky to have you. I think I was a handful when I was young. Haha

  3. Congratulations on the award! And thank you so much for nominating me! This is by far one of the best gifts I received on my birthday :)

    • Thank you! Of course, you deserve this. :) Your blog challenge surely inspired others to create one themselves. I like your post What to Wear because most of them feature Asians hahaha. Anyway, I also like your blogging tips though I cannot find how to create those social media buttons.

  4. I’m so glad I found your site! I’ll be visiting often! Congrat’s on the award! I’ll be checking out all the links and discovering other great blogs too. Thanks!

  5. Hahaha! I LOL’d at number 7!

  6. Thank you for nominating me! I am so happy right now :) eBooks are amazing! Congratulations on the award :D

  7. Wow, you’re certainly raking them in at the moment! :)
Thank you so much for giving me these awards, it’s so nice of you and also humbling to think that you think my blog inspiring.

  8. I also love labradors. I own a lovely brindle lab/retriever cross called Trigger who I love to bits despite his habit of eating rubbish off the pavement whenever I take him out for a walk! Last night he managed to break into his supply of dog biscuits and was rather ill as a result. Ffortunately he is fine now!

    • Wow. Labradors are pretty yet lazy and glutton, don’t you think? They just love to eat, sleep, rest, nap, eat, sleep, well you get the picture. Hahaha! Good thing he is okay now. Better not to put the food supply somewhere he can reach then.

  9. Congratulations on another award! I’m familiar with a few of the blogs you mentioned and will definitely check out some of the others. There are probably more younger adults that listen to classical music than you think. :) I think it’s great that you listen to a variety of music.

    • Thank you, Nicole. :) It is nice to have common friends here in WordPress, right? Hmm. Perhaps I haven’t met a lot who listen to classics since most of my friends like pop and RnB. Haha. What’s your favorite genre by the way?

      • I don’t know that I have a favorite genre. I’ve always grown up with classical music around but I also like classic rock, indie, ambient, brit pop etc… there are so many sub genres of music these days I’d rather not get too specific. I’m pretty open to music, but like you I don’t care much for rap. I also avoid country music and not a big fan of Top 40/pop. But I’m not a snob about it either because I have a pretty diverse group of friends and recognize that everyone has different tastes.

        • Hmm I see and I agree with you on that. I have a genre which is like being in my comfort zone, but I can’t say it is my favorite. I don’t like top 40 music either. Whenever I listen to those in the top, I always want to hunt those who made those songs in the list. Most of them are not even worth it. :)

          • Ah music! I am glad there are many varieties of it even if I don’t like all of it. It does bond us all in a way. I’m always suspicious of people who claim they don’t listen to music.

  10. Congrats on your blog award~!

I’m a typical Asian/Filipino, so it feels as if I didn’t eat a proper meal if it doesn’t include rice. Haha.

  11. Awesome!!… Congrats Nica… You know, we share a lot… #6 definitely is something I can relate to!…

  12. Congratulations on yet another blog award! :)

  13. Thanks, Monica!!!! Funny enough, I was nominated by another blog the other day!!! So now I have 2 nominations for blog awards (my first ever) in one week! :) I think your blog is pretty awesome, too!

  14. Thank you very much, as always you put a smile on my face. It’s nice to know something else about you too, I am a big fan of classical music and dogs. I don’t mind rap if it is so over the top it becomes a parody of itself, that amuses me. Reading off your phone, crikey! I don’t think I could cope with that, not with my eyesight, it’s great how you take your reading obsession to any lengths.

    • I am happy to be able to put that smile in your face. Wow, so you love classical music, too! Fabulous! And dogs? Do you have one at the moment? Yes, I read with my phone and Mom always scold me for being an ADDICT in reading. Haha! These days I answer her with, “If I have a 5.5 inch phone, that will be better.”

  15. Hi Monica,
Just wanted to let you know that I have put up my award here! http://www.juanitatortilla.com/2012/12/very-inspiring-blogger-award.html
    Thank you so much :)
